Rosatom Goes into Business with Moscow State University and buildingSMART Russia in the Field of Education Development in Information Modeling

On December 27, a ceremony was held in Lomonosov Moscow State University to mark the signing of an agreement between the Rosatom State Corporation, buildingSMART Russia and the MSU Faculty of Economics.

The parties have agreed to cooperate in the areas related to the development of a training course for managers of various levels “Information modeling technologies. Terminology, processes, principles of openBIM (preparation for professional certification buildingSMART)”, as well as the launch and implementation of the program for training and certification of Rosatom personnel in the field of open standards openBIM. Thus, Lomonosov Moscow State University can become the first university in the Russian Federation and the third in the world, offering Russian students to receive training for the international buildingSMART certification. buildingSMART Russia is to conduct the certification in accordance with the exclusive license.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Gennady Sakharov, Director for Capital Investments, State Construction Regulations, and State Expert Reviews at Rosatom, Alexander Auzan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Lomonosov Moscow State University and Olga Kubanskaya, Executive Director of NACEC, Vice-chairman of the Russian branch of buildingSMART.

In his greeting speech, Gennady Sakharov stressed that the agreement will give rise to the development of digital engineering in the country. “Signing the agreement is the first step. Together with MSU and NACEC, we are planning to develop and implement the project in accordance with international standards and approaches for its further development in Russia.” Moreover, the top manager highlighted the substantial contribution of Lomonosov Moscow State University to the training of highly qualified personnel, which will eventually provide Russian companies with opportunities on a global scale.

“For us, Rosatom is the center of attraction, – said Alexander Auzan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Lomonosov Moscow State University. – We want to cooperate and get a boost from those who are already in the global market. And Rosatom is one of the largest Russian companies of international standing.” Also, the university representative was positive to the dynamic of cooperation development for the quality improvement of specialists training.

As a representative of NACEC and the Russian branch of buildingSMART, Olga Kubanskaya thanked everyone for the joint efforts and noted that the program has strong potential in specialists training in the field of construction digitalization, and it is carried out in accordance with international standards. Ms. Kubanskaya also expressed the hope that the agreement will enable making the most of the experiences sharing practices in this area.
